The MiscellAyneous doodle thread!

Postby Ayne » Wed Nov 04, 2009 3:20 am

I'm not really an artist, but I do enjoy doodling. Most of the time it's done using Windows Live Messenger's handwriting feature. I've wanted to make a thread to showcase all of my scribblings, and yours too! This thread's purpose is for anyone wanting to show off a drawing or doodle that they were impressed with, but felt it wasn't worthy of its own thread. (Or the Chit-Chat Thread.)

I'll get us started.

Random Head -- I dunno.

Penciled -- This was a drawing done with pencil+paper, taken with my cellphone camera because I don't have a scanner. I've since lost the original, and people usually comment that it looks like someone's style. Design was influenced by Charlotte Aulin official artwork. (Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin) I'm also aware of the messy lines.

Dogman -- Simple, a dog-man in a suit. Not furry, not really.

Dragondemonthing -- A monster! Oh no!

Undead -- Ain't she cute?

Digitaled -- Actually the same as 'Penciled' but this doodle came first. Same inspiration, not original at all.

Ayne! -- A drawing I did last year for fun, based on the Harvest Festival event(s) in Final Fantasy XI. Also taken with phone cam.

Leech -- A doodle of a Leech monster from FFXI. Anatomically incorrect in comparison, but it's just a doodle!

Scholar -- A doodle of my FFXI character in Scholar Artifact. Of course, someone red-lined it. *facepalm.*

Nothing red about this! -- Blatant ripoff. But I liked how it turned out. Plus I was experimenting (sort-of) with coloring. Which I suck at.

Goober -- A childish doodle of a Goobbue from FFXI. *grin*

Crystalline -- I was just messing with foreground/background with this. Nothing special. It is pretty, in a simple way, though.

Lips -- Doodled up when someone asked me if I drew lips a certain way. File name has my retort.

Dat Ayne -- Rich Boy meme.

And that's pretty much it for now. I kinda expect this thread to crash and burn, but it seemed like a good idea. Unless it's been done already!

If this wasn't based on FFXI, it would make a great new mascot for 2chan. Maybe not as great as Pedobear, but still. It's got the JP vibes going.

Heh.

There's a downside to using WLM to draw on. If the person whose chat window you're drawing in goes offline, you lose it. >: I had this awesome drawing of a Boomer standing around like 'derp?' with Bill, Zoey, Louis and Francis staring at it. I didn't send it, so I couldn't save it. Oh well!

Did I mention that I love Win7's MSPaint?

Meow.
lolwut.

And then there's this:
A.
B.
C.

A = Doodle.
B = Characters.
C = Second set of characters. (Also the reference for A.)

All for fun, and done with a wireless optical mouse.

I have no talent.

Windows 7 still doesn't have round brushes?

At least they added a pencil-on-paper effect.

EDIT: Okay, sorry, this might be more random than I intended it, lol . . . I was just responding to the awesome meme-ness of your picture, and acknowledging its legendary status by pretending to interrupt it with another one. :]

It would be nice to have some Crysis and Crysis Warhead artwork since the franchise is very popular and most of the stuff within it looks excellent.

It's been a while since I've posted anything. I have quite a few drawings to post. c:

sketchsheet
Fritjof, a Burmecian Thief.
Fritz again, different clothing.
a doodle of me I did when I got my Logitech headset.
;c
Ayne, all paint-y.

ImageImage <- MSN smilies that I made.

A drawing I took as a challenge, the challenge was to draw a chibi me eating a banana split sundae.
Probably my smallest doodle ever.
Inkpen!

Fritjof was inspired by a dream I had about FFIX, I wrote a short story about it too. :x

Anyway, I'm on a slower connection so I can't really, er... do anything.

Do you actually look like your avatar or do you just draw yourself AS your avatar? o.O

I used to have long hair but I had to get it cut short. I miss it being long~ I'm going to grow it back out. I wear glasses too, and speaking of-- I get a new pair in less than a week. :3

I did kinda draw a self-portrait. It's not the prettiest. Then again, neither am I.

It's kinda cute, though?

Yeah, it's cute!

I was just wondering because sometimes manga artists (and some fine artists) portray themselves under different personas... Like how Akira Toriyama sometimes draws himself as a robot. Or how pro-wrestlers become their screen personas in real life.
