Finally got around to beating Assassin's Creed II and I'm going to keep for a few days before returning it. The story got sufficiently weird towards the end but I like how the whole series has been really carefully researched. The puzzles in the game (I mean Subject 16's puzzles) are actually challenging and the whole thing doesn't treat you like an idiot.

I have to admit, though, once you beat the game there's no fun in just running around.

Playing Final Fantasy XII.... Agian.... I've had that game forever, and I still haven't beaten it! I play it for awhile, and then I get bored or frustrated and stop playing for 6 months, then pick it up again. Right now I'm just trying to get the most powerful weapon in the game. I think I can do it! Hahaha!

I hear that! I'm only a casual player of 2D fighters, so it took me something like 90 minutes to beat the game on easy. The only way I beat the last boss was by using a team of Iron Men and chaining three Proton Cannons at the end. I think I still had to use a fourth Proton Cannon to finish him off...

I started a New Game+ in Prototype, and much to my dismay all my Prototype trophies were reset. The good news is that since the data builds on the save game info, I don't actually have to kill 53,596 Infected to get my "Trail of Corpses" trophy again.

Not really eagerly awaiting any current games, though

I'm playing Bayonetta on Hard Mode. This is a stunning game. The story, the sounds, effects, everything. They included the song "Fly Me to the Moon" as their soundtrack.

there we go again same game, I picked up this morining before work plan on playing it tonight. I hear alot of complaints about the linarity of first half of the game. Which is a big part of this games appeal to me.

That fat laser that the first form of Abyss uses is epic. On the subject of lasers, a Cyclops/Iron Man/Cable team is great for a hyper combo finish with three different massive lasers firing off at once. It makes me feel cheap though

Love the game so much though. My favourite team is Psylocke/Ryu/Morrigan.

Not surprised to see so many people talking about FF13. I actually expected more posts about people playing that. Maybe they are too busy playing it to post.

For me, I'm playing the 900th remake of Lunar on the PSP. The updated graphics are nice, but the game runs slower. But the new spell effects make up for it.

Hah, still lack an HDtv so I still lack a 360 and PS3. I'm curious to hear impressions about FFXIII given how critics don't seem to know how to judge it. I was apathetic at first about it, then somewhat excited, to not sure how I feel about it given my constantly changing opinions about the franchise. Well, I'm mostly curious about how the story goes since the battle system seems to be loved this time around, and I've been hoping 13's story would be similar to FFVI given what little I've heard.

Meanwhile, I booted up Persona 4 again since I felt like actually getting past the first dungeon this time around, and I don't feel like playing FFX. Pretty much neither VII or X has managed to impress me that much, though the internet is probably to blame for that..... as well as Persona and Dragon Quest V upping the ante..... Which is why I'm hoping that FFXIII might be an rpg that I'll enjoy.

If VII and X weren't your thing, I rather doubt XIII will be. VII and X have the largest following of the series, so you can be sure their influence is going to be in XIII, especially with many of the same team behind it. I'm not getting any FFVI vibes from the story at all.

I'm 11 hours in at the moment and my impression so far is that the battle system is great (and fast!), the music is fantastic, the visuals give Uncharted 2 a run for their money in some areas, and the first 8 hours are largely the same. Seriously, I don't know why they drew out the beginning so much, that's where you want to hook people. When I heard it was linear, I didn't care because I thought that meant a constant action-action-action-action chain of events like Uncharted 2. However, the first 8 hours of XIII are basically running down very long paths filled with enemy encounters, flashbacks, and largely the same scenery. It does get more eventful after that though, and the first 11 hours already has three times the story of the entire game of FFXII. Square also somehow managed to make a female character (Lightning) that doesn't have an IQ of 80 and an air-filled voice for once. Add Sahz to that, who is basically a black Jack Sparrow, and it's a good mix. The rest of the characters are average, and Vanille is Yuffie, Riku, and Penelo all fused into one, but you knew to expect that.

Being that slow RPG battles are a big turn-off for me, the Lightning-fast (ugh, pun) battles in this are a big plus. Lightning, Sahz, and Fang are interesting characters, which is more than I can say for other entries in the series, and the story is actually enjoyable. The voice work is surprisingly good too. Except Vanille's, but she apparently has to be annoying in every way.

I gotta try the Cyclops/Iron Man/Cable team hyper combo. I like chaining instead just to make sure I can use all the potential power I can get. Also, if I happen to miss.

I got the original Uncharted in the mail. Haven't started it yet, but I'm expecting fun things from Naughty Dog.

Still playing FTB3, probably will be playing it regularly for the next 2 years...like 2. Mostly working on the last few medals, 2000 kills and 50 mvps.
And I've gotten back into Little Big Planet psp, such a fun game.
