I'm willing to bet FFX was their first game then, because when it was released the current "fan community" of the time heavily criticized it for no world map, no controllable airship, bright ugly clothing, rock music, horrible voice work, and a main character that looks like a cross between every previous FF protagonist wearing Sion's (from The Bouncer) clothing. I even heard whining about linearity back then simply due to the lack of a world map. Nine years later and now FFX is fairly loved. The same cycle repeats with pretty much every game though.
I guess renting FFXIII is a good idea, though if you do get it you'll have to replay the drawn-out beginning all over again.

My apologies, my brain apparently thinks games still come on cartridges. :oops:Led Zeppelin wrote:I never really saw FFX's cast as young. Only Tidus and Rikku really. Everyone else seemed pretty mature. I need to get that game again, it was awesome.
Even Yuna? :P I guess script-wise she wasn't as bad as Tidus, but her English voice actor lowered her age a good ten years. I wanted to kill her the entire game.
Half of FFVII's cast was over the age of 30, and the only teenager was an optional character. I think Nomura would like to design more characters like that, but I remember reading once about Square's execs requesting main protagonists that appeal to a younger audience. Never mind that the largest gaming demographic is 18-34 yrs...
Bugenhagen: "Ho Ho Hoooo. I hear that you looked after Nanaki a bit. Nanaki is
still a child you see."
Red XIII: "Please stop, grandfather. I'm 48."
Bugenhagen: "Ho Ho Hoooo. Nanaki's tribe has incredible longevity. So you see
his 48 years would only be equivalent to say that of a 15 or 16 year old in
human reckoning."

I am definitely a spring and autumn guy. For the extreme "main" seasons, I definitely prefer winter. If it's too hot out I can't even sleep. Oh yeah, and I grew up without having an air conditioner in the household, so I quickly learned to hate summer.

On a lighter note, nothing new has happened to me recently.
